322 employment areas
The local missions and employment centers are well distributed over France. INSEE has developed the concept of employment zones by analyzing work movements, which can be seen on the following map. The result is a division into 322 coherent zones, sometimes straddling two departments. It is possible to organize them into about fifteen bio-regions inspired by the work of Momentum and the natural geography of watersheds organizing water policy in France. We can demonstrate our sobriety by no longer taking the plane, favoring "going to" rather than "arriving at", traveling by train or carpooling... but France is also overseas and we must respect the obligation to planes for our distant fellow citizens.
